What do you think of the Penny Loafer (shoebox Ford kustom)?

So I picked up my latest issue of Rod & Kulture the other day, maybe it's been out a while I don't know, and I got reading through this article on the Penny Loafer, a nice mildly kustomized shoebox Ford that was sadly totaled! Maybe this is just me...but does anyone else think this photo of the totaled shoebox at least appears to be digitally rendered (almost video game quality)? Again maybe it's just me, but I was really surprised. This photo does not look real. I've seen photos of cars from the Barris fire, I've seen a kustom roll off the back of a flatbed truck and crash into another, but through it all this photo does not look real. What do you other HAMBers think about the incident?

 

do a search, it's for real. car belongs to a hamber. not an altered picture.

Huh? Why would they even do that? Haven't seen the photo, but maybe they just photoshopped some sensitive detail out of it to be respectful or something.

Holy crap it right. From that video, it looks like it really tore up that 1 tail light on the back of the truck too. Unless that was just photoshopped of course. Car, almost destroyed. Truck, a couple of small scratches and a busted tail light lens.

 

That was a nice shoebox. If i didnt know better i would have tought it was an old custom from the late 50s. the interior was spot on too.
Im glad both driver and passenger made it alive, but im really bummed that such a nice car is wasted.

I drive a truck, and seen my share of death on the highway. They were both VERY lucky.

How bad is it? if not too bad its definiteley a good candidate for a chop or carson style top. still a bummer. I'd hate to walk in my backyard and see somethin like it.

 

This thread is dumb, but after reading the article in TRK, the car seemed kinda doomed from the beginning. 86 Year old dimentia patient takes a bat to the car? Good lord. How often does that happen?

 

Totalled. Needs 1/4s, doors, decklid, fenders. I think the roof will buff out .
