Hey that wasn't bad, I only sent one PM and got results. I figured Dan would probably know, too bad he's leaving us hangin.
Hey I'm back! Sorry to keep ya'll hangin' but this ain't my computer & it's Saturday . O.K. here goes----- The 59 was bought from Mike back in 86 ,by my EX-son-in-law, David Bork . Back then ,he , my daughter & grandson were livin' with me . I hated that car! Not for what it was,but because after he bought it , all it ever did was plug up my driveway . A year or so later he bought a polished 671 blower for it-put a rebuild kit in the motor- then it sat some more . (2 4's on the 671) . 1992 they up & moved & bought a house 1/4 mile from me . I think he did actually drive it once or twice . It's still sittin'-waitin' ...... I don't know? Hey Mike, give him a call & buy it back . 814-899-7169 Back in 2002 ,it was appraised by a local ***** (I think they buddied up cause the ex SIL had a slew of Model cars , & Tim Nagel , the appraiser did a deal) . Therefore it got appraised at $2700 . The reason? Ex SOB & MY daughter were goin' thru a nasty divorce ,& he needed a LOW number ....... Dont make sense $2200 blower & $500 for the car . Maybe someone could pick this up cheap .
Wow Dan, you really came through on this one, but you drove me nuts waitin for a reply! I knew I saw the car, but I just couldn't remember who had it or if it was still in Erie. You get a gold star on your forehead!
Danzee, thanks for the info. I had a good time with that car and always wondered what happened to it. That car had been around the Western NY area for years before I bought it. Never got a lot of history on it but I know it went through a bunch of owners before me. When I bought it, for $800, it was all Pearl White with a brown **** carpet and two stupid bucket seats and no other interior. Got the interior that is in it for free when my buddy stripped a clapped out 348 tri-power convertible . Motor was a 283 with a 2-barrel. The body had no rubber seals anywhere, and the right front fender was pushed back a little from a previous owner. I spent over $200 just on rubber seals for the doors and trunk. Bought the tri-power set up off a local dude for $200 complete, manifold to air cleaners. Just bolted it on and go. That ****er would fly, and the progressive linkage was great. Took it to a local cruise night one time, and after it closed, a buddy of mine and I headed to a local bar to shoot some stick and bench race. On the way there came up next to some snot nosed potato heads in a Camaro and proceeded to show them disappering tail lights at some totally reckless speed. Backed into the parking space at the bar, yucking it up about the run, when all the sudden, no steering. The drag link, which was cut and welded by an idiot, just broke in half! I guess timing is everthing. Thanks again for the info.-MIKE
