Hi guys and gals! I finally got hooked on the HAMB. The thread "Vintage shots from days gone by!" really got the nostalgia juices going. My first car in 1968 was a 63 Impala, 300/327 with factory 4 speed, bench seat, factory tach, posi and still had the 409 emblems on the fenders. Funny, not an SS car, just a regular Impala. I still have the emblems but the car is long gone. I traded it in on a 66 Malibu which I still have and am now once again working on. That car is like the old family axe; three different heads, four different handles but still the same old axe!
I also have a 55 Nomad that I'm not working on, unfortunately, and a 48 Chevy COE. The cabover is on a 77 one ton dually frame with a 402 big block mounted behind the cab. It is on hold while I work on the Malibu. I have a 47 Spartan Manor trailer that I plan to pull behind the COE.
Here's my dilemma. I have a short attention span. So I work on this project for a while, then that one, then the other, then I go out and find something else to start on!! My friends give me hell for not finishing anything but I have more fun working on them than using them. The last project I finished, a 48 Chevy flatbed "Coke" truck, I sold practically as soon as I got it done.
My dream car is the 54 Waldorf Nomad Motorama station wagon. I've loved that car since the first time I saw a photo of it 40 years ago. If anyone has candid photos or info on the whereabouts or demise of the Waldorf please contact me. I have some photos of it at my Flickr account <http://www.flickr.com/photos/56912288@N05/with/5419192496/>
    Thanks for a great website!!
