Hey I have 57 chevy pu truck that i have had for ever I got it when I was 17 and now Im 43 so you do the math . Im trying to get it finished for this summer as I want to go back to my home town to show it off! Im doing all the work my self all !!!!!! Redwelter hes my best friend and we had so much fun in this truck as kids you know like pushing it to the gas station as the gas gauge did not work ! so I was looking to see if anyone has put a Tpi motor in a 57 chevy befor and what it takes to do it ! any help would be great Thanks Mark
Do you plan on a IFS of some kind? A fuel pump in the tank (custom) will be in order. A stand alone 'puter for the TPI. Going foe the old school look ie wheel's/tires, paint, body work?

Score a complete TPI car [I.E. Camaro/Fiebird] and pull the complete motor with wiring harness still atached. From there, it's easy to find info on the net about getting the stock harness with 'puter and such to work with your existing electrical system in your '57. Option #2 is to buy a custom aftermarket harness that will plug the TPI enginf and 'puter into your stock '57's existing electrical system. This option is about $800. For $800, I can do a little reading on the net, and use some wire crimps and electrical tape, thank you very much. On the other hand, if 800 clams aint that big a deal to you, it is kinda nice to just plug and play, and let someone else do all the thinking for you, and throw in a warranty to boot. Makes for a much cleaner install and no trial and error.
