Definitely stay away from Auto & truck Bumper in Hayward. I used them a few years ago to chrome all of my interior window mouldings and they look average at best and lost several small pieces in the process. They made no attempt to replace the lost pieces or discount the work as compensation.

I've heard good things about Superior and obviously Sherms too but haven't used either. I'm curious about Walker now and how they're pricing and quality compares as I do think that Sherm's is out of reach for many average Joe car builders, myself included. Ogden's also sounds very reputable.

I had 6 small pieces and a chopped windshield frame to plate. All of these pieces would have difficult or time consuming to replace.

I chose Sherm's and was happy to pay for the quality and service.

Their chrome job looked great and nothing was lost.

Probably would have done some shopping if I had big parts or a large quan***y to plate.

    Good Luck

Thanks..Yeah they are close to me, but Ive heard sooo many bad things I wouldnt attempt to use them. There's also High Lustre Chrome in Hayward.Used them once to polish a Vintage Weiand Caddy Intake and chrome some engine parts. The ***hole Grounded the vintage 60's "Weiand" Logo off the intake and the chrome started pitting in a couple of months. He was a total **** about it too. Also screwed over another close friend of mine.

Well, we wouldn't be using him to do million dollar Pebble cars if the quality was no good. I've used Sherm's before, but don't feel that they're much better, don't get me wrong they do tremendous work, but your almost paying for a name nowadays. Our customers have endless amounts of money to throw at the cars we build, and won awards. They were happy with the job that Walker's did...
    enough said.

If you want a good job or even want your stuff back go to a reputable shop like these fellows have posted and pay the price, a lot of the cheap shops send your **** to Mexico and you never see it again or it's not the same part you sent them. The EPA and Air Resources Board in California have just about put everyone out of business or made it super expensive for the ones that remain in business. Funny thing about supposedly curbing pollution, you buy credit's from the Air Resources Board and if you run out or need more you just pay them more money..... like Deep Throat said "Follow the money"

This is Crazy. I just got a call from a plating co. in Kayville UT. they just opened an office in Benicia Ca. and are calling on all the local shops for buisness. They want to come by the shop tomarrow. Ill ask them how much to plate the 34 grill and windsheild. I forgot the name of the shop, but I'll get it so we can look into them.

The Utah plater sounds like Ogden Chrome. I saw their signage in Benecia as I was driving to the Sac Autorama on Saturday.

Dont even bother with spray/powder coat chrome, its garbage..
looks good but it doesn't take much to scrach it
I just got back from Superior Chrome with my parts and they did a mighty fine job for the price if you ask me...
But if you find anybody that does cherry chrome for cheep, let a brother know.

WALKERS, i have heard good things about them for years now, and know of many people who were customers (including myself) when they were in vacaville and now travel up to redding area to get there chrome, having repeat customers tells alot about a business.
