I know I am early and Atch usually does the Honors of posting this lovely event, but I am getting antsy to get out of the House! http://www.gspromotions.net/ EDIT: I've recycled an old thread via Atchley's request. I will only be by there for a few hrs on Saturday morning because I have to leave town and go take the boys Kart racing.
I'll be there, not sure about setting up though, see how weather is and get outside spot incase it's dead I can leave early ; 0

I might see if someone is going and tag along. I could use a break from the mundain. Hell I may even meet one of my cute cousins.
I have heard they are not selling spaces anymore, so I would presume it might be a full house this year! Guys, I am not sure how to judge your passion for cars and old swap meet junk, but there will be alot of it here and it should be worth your drive.
depends on why you're going and what you're lookin' for. like most swap meets in the last several years, it's top heavy on roundy round and muscle car stuff. but i always find a couple of treasures. typical scores from my past include: a 364 nailhead with ford 3-sp tranny, including the aftermarket adapter bellhousing and flywheel/clutch (well, not typical. that's probably my best). a pair of 10" wide slotted aluminum wheels from the 60's. various antique tools, license plates, and other peripherial items. there are very few old pieces, such as flathead ford stuff, sheet metal older than the 60's, etc. but there are always the usual assortment of used carbs, distributers, piston sets, cams, trannys, engines, etc. and there are the usual vendors of radiators, rebuilt trannys, new engine hoists & stands, reproduction parts for muscle car restorers, new chinese tools, grinder wheels, flapper wheels, that sort of thing. for me it's a social event, as i always bump into 20-30 friends. if you're a really hard core swapper it's usually better to go to places where you never see anyone you know. even at riverport (most of us will always refer to the stl model t swap as "riverport") i usually see 5-10 friends. too bad i can't go this year; the weather looks to be ideal for a swap. usually it's colder than _____________ (fill in the blank with your favorite expression) at this one. about 80% of it is inside and the rest outside. even inside it's usually somewhat cold when it's fridgid outside.
NO I'LL BE MISSIN IT , BUT I WILL GO TO THE BIG ONE IN CAPE GIRARDEAU MO ON FEB THE 20th, GOOD WEATHER THIS YEAR ,SO IT'S GONA BE BIG , IT'S INSIDE & OUTSIDE BOTH , 1 DAY ONLY SO GET THERE EARLY IT'S OVER BY NOON !
i hit up the one at cape, i work fridays and saturdays. can anyone tell me anything about the quality that comes from lakeshore fab out of columbia?
Planning on being up at the swap meet cause have got a few goodies to get rid of. Like a driver door off a 50 chevy p/u & more. Just new but anxious to checking other things out as well. We'll see you all who's up there
ok, so let's make it for this year. The 2012 Columbia swap meet is Friday/Saturday 2/17 – 2/18: http://www.gspromotions.net/ neil - see if you can edit the title on your original post...
Done! I will be there for a short few hours in the AM, but have to leave to go Kart Racing with my Boys and Wifey. Hopefully we will see some of you around! EDIT: It let me change my original thread post title, but not the actual one that shows up on the boards - I'll see what I can do...
I've seen some of Lakeshore Fab's work and their front end parts are very nice. All tig welded construction and they look like they know what they are doing to me. I've talked to them a few times there and they aren't too bad.
Well crap! It actually is this year and I'm gonna miss it by a week. I am in a 3 day conference Wed-Fri this week in KC, MO and will be going through COMO THIS Friday. Bummer. Hope you all have good weather and a good turnout! Grant
