First I'll come clean and tell you my real name is Patrick. "Hugh Bond" is just a silly screen name from the days when everyone had them but I choose to keep it around. My main interest is in muscle car era stuff but, to me, that includes earlier hot rods from that era, too, like '60s g***ers, slingshots and altereds. My introduction to hot rodding was through model building as a kid in the 1970s. All the cool model kits were 1960s leftovers with all the 1960s speed parts. That got me interested in the real stuff and, before I was old enough to drive, I spent countless hours in the library tracking down old magazine issues to read all the stuff I can now Google in seconds. I don't plan on posting here often but I've wound up here reading a lot so I finally took the plunge and registered rather than just being a lurking guest. Thanks to all you guys for posting so many great stories and photos.
Welcome from Union Pier, MI. That's how I got started in this stuff, but it was in the late 50"s when my mom would get me my AMT model of choice to $1.50 and real Testors glue.
