    Lol.
    3 speed... Saginaw
4 speed... I'd say either the Muncie or the Saginaw. The saggy may be ahead of the Muncie, I dunno
    5 speed... Prolly the T 5

Saginaw and T-10. I believe the T-5 was considered too weak to go behind a 350.
Muncie was the super heavy duty, and would have only been installed behind a 350 if it was a hi-po.

If your talking sheer volume, the saginaw 3 speed was probably the most popular manual ****** ever in the GM lineup.

Are the 4 speed truck transmissions the same as the saginaw 4 speed?

  9. The truck 4 speed was a 3 speed with a compound low or a granny transmission. The car ****** was a 4 speed side shifter.

The Sag was the most common transmission wused behind GMs small block with the muncy after that and a few borg warners.

Let me qualify a statement here. I have pulled borg warner transmissions from Chevrolets I haven't read anywhere in a book or magazine that GM used them.

I would say a Muncie 4 speed. Followed by Super T10, early T10, then Saginaw. At least this is what my transmissions sales say.

There is an exception. Mid to late 80's pickups had NP440 transmissions much like an A833 O/D with a different bell mounting flange. Third gear was 1:1 and fourth was a .70 overdrive. I've got a couple tucked away for my son's pickup.
