Just searched for reference on headers for my 29 Model A roadster. I've seen lots of negative stuff on Sanderson's but like the look of their "Zoomies" and lakes, available elsewhere. I've seen that Patriot (and Hedman) make a do-it-yourself kit. Would be very intersed in finding or fabbing a pair of headers that are tapered and conical with screw in restrictors .Also interested in finding a resource who can custom make a pair for my Model A's 327. Any advice or pics are welcome. Sanderson Patriot Speedway
Unless you are running a Blown motor, don't run Zoomies - they not only make you look like a poseur, they don't make any power on non blown cars
i built these roadster lakes for a local guy last year, its an olds rocket, we bought speedway cones, u-bends and donuts from a local autoparts place, i made the flanges, the turnouts are from a truck parts store, i built baffles that are part of the turnouts and slide up into the cones, two days ago i finished a set of regular headers for a 29 roadster pickup with a nail head, i made the flanges and we used u-bends, donuts and collectors, also two 10ft lengths of tube.
find some good thick flanges & order the size bends/ cones you need from speedway, cut & mig yourself some.
Speedway kit. Not bad to put together if you just take your time, measure, mark, re-measure, mock-up, and make sure they look right then tack and final weld.
sorry to highjack this thread, but I've got to say your deuce-ised model A is one bitchin ride. I like it ........ a lot
Here's a custom header link...though they are very expensive, they look like they do a good job http://www.stainlessheaders.com/pricing
A bunch of bends and some Speedway cones. The cones are a bit lightweight though. If I did it again I'd have some fabricated out of heavier material
Yeah no power here, only runs 11's, and it does look poseurish I'll agree it'd be faster through exhaust but its got that look and also the sanderson store bought zoomies do look funny to me! back on topic just build your own if you look through my album you'll see the set I built out of a lakester kit and some 1 3/4 pipe to build a A/SR style set for my old 355 SBC.
See, you proved my point. I'd be embarrassed if I had a Big Block with a dual tunnel ram in a light car like that and couldn't run 10's
Saltflatmatt..vendor here..HAMBER..support him nice stuff..thick flanges nice welds, not one thing to bitch about
