    Great story!

This is what I like to hear. I hate when guys get nice, complete cars only to chop them up and turn them into street rods. Have fun with it!

Great story Josh! That coupe looks really solid- a time capsule for sure. That paint looks like it would rub right out with some polishing compound and a nice wax job. Take and paint those wires black, throw some blackwall Firestone piecrust bias tires on it, a two pot intake, and go crusin for that rootbeer float. That will be a nice pair for you and your wife to go around in too, and something that your wife should cherish forever in memory of her family. Cool stuff!

  14. Wow. There's no justice in the world.

You get offered a sweet '29 A from Grandma.

I got offered a '94 Grand Marquis with severe frame rust and a caved-in front fender from Gramps (well, his descendents, anyway) for the low, low price of only____. It does have the obligatory old-people CB antenna, Triple AAA windshield sticker, and box of tissues on the back window deck though....

We can clearly see which one of us was the problem child! :D

Seriously, congrats- that car is sweet, and it's got a lot of great stories that came with it, I'll bet.

Incredible. You're very lucky. I hope you do take her for that spin. Be sure to document it here, as well. I'd love to see you keep it purple, too!

Very special gift you were given. It's more than just an old Model A, it's all Grandma's love and memories with that car that you received also.

How in the hell could you squeeze 2 adults and 4 kids in there? That's crazy! Couldn't imagine summer heat and sun, with six people in there, truckin all the way to Yosemite.

One of the best stories I've read on the HAMB to date. Do it justice, and add more memories to the tale with your kids.:)

Oh, and I second keeping the purple patina.

The best part is someone stored it on jackstands for all these years.
I'm sure it saved those tires!
    I love the back ones,
if you ever get rid of them let me know!

    Congrats on the car.

Very cool. Looks to be a 28 Special coupe or Leather back coupe.
    What do you have planned?

Way cool Skip, I will for sure take you up on the offer. Thank you, I really appreciate it!

I plan to get it cleaned out, tidy the interior, get it running, mildly hop up the banger, fix the roof and drive grandma to get a root beer float! Then probably paint it at a later date!
I was thinking that as well. As you can see the roof is in bad shape. I'm on the hunt for a replacement. Soooo, if anyone is about to make a coupester, or has already, please let me know.
