Does anyone ever find themselves going out of the way just to look at a car or parts sitting in a yard or business just to see if it is there the next day? Lately I have found myself driving out of my way after work just to look a junk yard. I have fallen in love with a 49/50 lincoln cosmopolitan that is just sitting there and appears to be complete. There seems to be some 57 chevy stuff hiding in there as well as some other neat stuff. I was just wondering if anyone else finds themselves doing this same thing

I find myself going out of my way to see new territory to look for auto related stuff. I usually stop and ask about what I see. I have bought some really good stuff doing so.

It is nice to hear that I am not the only person out there that has to go out my way every day to admire something. Maybe today I can snap some pics. We will see how bad the weather gets here.

I drive alot for work and I do look for old cars on different routes. I have no money or time for more projects, but still look. I know where there are some 40's and 50's stuff in the middle of nowhere. I also know of some good project material right close to home that are 20's through 50's and almost all for sale at a fair price in my opinion. For example a Model A Tudor sedan project for $3500 I think and is mostly there. Perfect hotrod project stored inside. I also know of a Buick 4 door wagon, '64 I think with a 401 nailhead that I can get cheap. Too many projects though.

I can relate to the no money and projects already. Still love to find as much as I can for future reference. I know a guy who has a barn full of post war mopar sedans/business coupes. I would love to get my hands on some of this stuff. Hopefully when we roof his house he will make me a hell of a deal on one of them. I just cant seem to stop picking up as much free stuff as I can. I just bought a project 1968 triumph gt6 for a $100 came with new qtr panels and she threw in a pair of sbc double hump heads, stock headers and a cherry picker. Just running out of space to put this stuff.
