currently working on and hopfully on the road this summer will be my on going project 1932 plymouth. its a 1932 2dr sedan with a two piece rear door. full fender. full enclosed hood. one off custom. the drive train is a 1990 ford ranger ch***is with 4cyl auto with only 75k original miles. i stretched the doors 8 inches to allow for my larger body. im 6'2". doing this does not make the car look funky in no manner what so ever. i think it makes it look better because the plymouth doors were originally short in width anyways. currently im able to drive it down the road but needs alot of body and sheetmetal work. will post pics when time allows me to. is there any other deliveries out there?
finally i took some pictures of my plymouth after working two days on sheetmetal work. its starting to look like ive actually got something here.
Whoa man, I don't know what that thing is under the hood but you better kill it before it breeds!!! What is your gameplan for the body lines there?
This is going to be an interesting build. Good to see a rear door on a SD conversion - many don't bother which kind of defeats the object of the exercise. A one piece side opening rear door would make it look lik a factory deal, but the two piece station wagon idea is certainly interesting. The proportions make it look more like a Panel Delivery than a Sedan Delivery - overall me likee....
You should read up about what this forum is about before you post you mini truck framed streetrod on it. Im not being a ****, but your gonna get flamed on this board. Traditional Hot Rods and Customs.... I miss the old HAMB
bodylines ive got covered on the door. ive got a couple junk doors im going to cut a section out of and add to my doors. the engine is kinda messy. the car will start up and drive as is. all lights working. i choosed the ford ranger frame because of the I beamed front end. i saw one at a national hot rod reunion in my area. it looked sick. the best part was the i beam axle looked original but suspension wise it was all chromed out. anyways. the reason i didnt swap out the 4cyl for a v8 302 or 350 is because ive built so many before this one with v8s i wanted to do something different and gas friendly. unless someone has been living under a rock gas prices are insane. the rear door is out of a 53 nash rambler 2dr station wagon. the size of the door was perfect. ive been modifying the body lines here and there to make this car extremely hard to identify. im going to make full hood sides and a two piece hood. piano hindg the center of the hood. use some bear claw latches to shut the hood. i think ive answer everyones questions so far. if there is any more just ask! i will post more later once i get more done to her. later chris
You're right this car is completely on topic!!!! I apologize!!!! And I don't give a **** if anyone likes my car!!!
ghost28.....your side windows look small in length to me. never seen a chevy that old as a delivery is it a 28?
keep at it,not a fan of the side panels over the reveals but it will be unique for sure.mine was a34 4dr
Naw it's a 27 and they did not start making sedan deliverys until late 28 in chevys and they were all ***led I believe 29. As to the side windows it's probably because it's a stock length 27 chevy 2 door sedan body and the doors are longer on a sedan body than a delivery would have been. KEEP WORKING ON YOURS
Is this car for sale and how much I like it and have been looking for a plymouth. This is a model I did of one not done yet but you get the idea. I took a few liberties with the model that just never could be like the cady v16 but...I just like mopars.
Always someone on here with NEGATIVE vibs.....no you are being a ****. I agree with what others have said about off topics on here that go unmentioned.....just as this should have.
the first black plymouth was on ebay. may still be on there. i plan on driving my 32 on the road this summer. in primer ofcourse. there is no way i can get the interior completely done and the body in paint. hopefully drive this car the the nats in louisville this fall.
I like it.........Keep butching away. My coupe was a 36 Dodgefire truck cab. Cut her up good. Ray in OR
srry there hasnt been any updates. theres been so much rain lately my garage floor is mud! ive gotten gravel the other day and i hope when it dries up a little i can spread gravel and get this project going again. since i cant work on it at my house i built the hood sides at my work. i get some pictures asap once i can walk in the garage.
curbspeed<<< there is no reason to act like that. some of us dont even have a garage to put our cars into. i was lucky enough to get a barn. my funds have finally caught up enough to allow me to install some gravel. shame on you picking on guys like me who are just trying to work with what we;ve got. my plymouth is far from being an ideal project but its what i choosed to build. as stated before if i could have afford a 10,000 shell i would buy one....i wouldnt be doing all this fab work now. i would like an apology sir.
