Ohh thats what he looks like.. I saw him all week. Last Sunday at the Fairfax High School Swap Meet, and then again on Teusday at the SoHo im West Hollywood. That freakin hat he's wearin is scary. Looks like a million green worms on his head..
Just a great guy met him yrs ago in iowa at the leads before eliminator, but he was workin on it we talked about the car and how the record label thought he was nuts oh thats history I think they just finished el loco tour ..................hey it was a awhile ago but he was a gentleman
As both a hot rodder and guitar player/poser....I need to meet Billy. The coolest MFr to walk the earth.
I meet him a couple years ago at the So-Cal Speed 50th anniversary party at the NHRA museum. He is a down to earth car guy....very cool. Wish I had his cash.
I met him in 85 on their Afterburner tour got a photo somewhere. We met the band at the Airport with about 20 hotrods. Security hated it Billy loved it invited everyone back to their Hotel so he could check all the cars out and then organised free tickets for all of us. As a 12 yo kid that was a blast. Great show too the stage started as a 33 dash with ****ogue gauges that turned digital as the show went on and the fuel gauge went from full to empty!
its an african hat from the Bamilike tribe billy got it on an african tour a long time ago. the chief of the tribe loved billys stetson hat, and wanted it badly, so billy told him that in texas they horse trade, so the chief offered the one he's wearing 99% of the time in exchange for the stetson
I had the chance to meet him and talk to him at the So-Cal Arizona Friday Party. Alex Xydias and Pete Chapouris had come over to do a slide presentation on the history of Alex and the So-Cal Speed Shop and Billy and his wife were there too. It was one of the most memorable evenings I've ever had. Listening to the stories of Alex, Pete and Billy, and then talking to them afterwards was the best. Billy told the story of how he got his hat. During a ZZ Top tour in Africa, Billy was introduced to a chief of Cameroon's Bamileke tribe. At the time, Billy was wearing a ten gallon Stetson, but it seems the chief wanted that Stetson very much. Billy was urged to promptly give his Stetson to the chief, however, Gibbons let the chief know that back in Texas there is a custom of "horse tradin'". The chief was more than happy to respond by presenting Billy with the hat we are so used to seeing him with today. The neatest thing about Billy is that he is a 100% real car guy, and has some fantastic stories to tell from his travels around the world. He says his accountant thinks he's nuts for spending so much money on old cars!

Billy is a bearded God. At first... I thought the original poster was IN a beard contest with Billy. I thought "HELL! THAT takes STONES!" Bily has taste. Plain and simple.
Plagerized or not, I now understand the rationale for wearing the ugly hat! Now it seems cool, where can I get one, short of going to Africa? Brian
I was hoping to see him on one of my 4 Lonestar Roundup trips and then this years GNRS but no luck.I've been a big fan for about 40 years!
The Rev. Billy F. Gibbons seems to just ooze cool!!! Saw them a couple years ago in concert. Would love to meet him though! That is awesome man!!!
