Anybody ever tried to run a hilborn with an electric pump or a conventional cam driven one?

Mechanical Hilborn won't run right with an electric pump, even the high volume EFI types as they are designed for the pressure and volume to be controlled by RPM.
Conventional stock types pumps won't even come close to supplying enough flow or pressure, plus you need to run return system.

Thanks, I though so but had to ask...

How about those belt driven ones... I think Crower makes one...

My Hilborn pump, or sometimes Enderly, is belt driven. That's pretty normal.

Hilborn makes them too. The pumps are the same as the ones that go on the front cover and are driven by the came. It is just on a belt driven pulley and bracket.

I drove mine off the cam.
Hilborn sized it for the application.
