Hey that looks really great, Im good freinds with Chandler and was with him when he bought that truck. Im going to be in Amarillo in November I'd love to check it while Im there!
A little update. I decided to scatter the truck and do a lot of repairs that I've been procrastinating on for a while: - Replaced both quarters under the doors - Scrapped the fiberglass front fenders - Replaced both lower cab corners - Replaced both doors.... Amounted to a bunch of cutting, welding, and grinding !! Next update will be new paint.... and...it's not white..... Stay tuned...
A small update. I've always thought a 55 olds dash would look good in a 55-59 series. Thanks to Flat Top Bob ....I have one now. I'm in the planning phase now; the two are not as close of a match that I figured they would be. My plan is to graft the Olds dash into the truck dash. I've also experimented quite a bit with using an Impala bumper on the back. I flipped the bumper brackets around and trimed the portion that wraps around the body. After running it this way for a while...I've decided that I don't really like the looks of it...so the plan is to cut the lower 1/4's off a parts car, graft them into the bed, and use the wrap around bumper off the car.
Looks great, I thought about the pontiac hood ornament @ one time too. Looks like it fit well. I drug my buddy down into the fleetside thing so we took some time away from the trucks and are close to finishing a 30X60 playground to get more work done.
I'm driving this truck to Austin for Round up...even if it's in bare metal and filler..... Hopefully that won't be the case though. Should be arriving in a creamy blue/ green truck... Friday morning.
Thanks for all the feedback...I really appreciate it Sprayed part of the cab yesterday and I'm really digging the new color.... I'm shooting the bed tomorrow and will get some photos up...
Appreciate that...I've had a couple of buddies stop by and look at the new color....and their reaction as been "hmmmm" ....so it's good to know someone else likes it other than me...
I sure was sad when Chandler sold that truck, but man I am glad you bought it! She is looking dead sexy with her new paint job! I can't wait to see it at the Roundup.
So pretty.. The mint is lovely.. I noticed you left your trim holes on the bed sides. Would you like my fleet side lettering? Chandler
