If you were planning on going to the March Meet, you need to read this article on valley fever at wwwdragracingonline.com and click on valley fever or go to the getting nostalgic column.
Thanks-this is info that people not just going to FAMOSO, but Arizona and other areas need to be aware of. Read the whole article. Something for not just car nuts need to know. Hope that this does not get removed.
Valley fevers been here forever. Its part of living in Ag areas. If the dust is blowing dont breath It. Its simple.. But do Keep a eye on your Kids when the dust is blowing cover there mouths with adamp towle
It is very serious, but I don't think Famoso is any worse than any other AG area.I've been racing there since the early 80s,maybe just lucky,I usually have to pit out in the back 40 as I am not a "PRO" racer,so we don't get paved pits. Just be watchful of dust blowing from the fields. ROY.
The spores are mostly in the hills east of town, so if the wind is from the east then you need to use more protection. The main thing is to remember you have been here and if you get sick soon after your visit, hen you can tell your DR. as many of them don't know what it is or how to identify it, as it is not seen everywhere. Valley Fever was even covered in the show House.
man that is really good to know thank you ill make sure to keep a look out and let everyone in my group know
like anything potentially hazardous. good to be aware of and take proper precautions. never had visited dragracingonline.com, good site with lots of stuff to check out
My entire family races at Famoso...currently my 12yo son is being tested for it...he's had a terrible dry cough for 3 months that no doctor can pinpoint.
