Safarinut, On the Paul Protz's coupe do you know how much its chopped? It looks real mild. Kinda what I'm looking to do to mine.

[/ QUOTE ]According to the magazine article,it was chopped 1 1/2 inches.

i cant believe i missed this 1st post!!! ray will you tell cavanaugh to get a godamned computer !!even christy has one!

[/ QUOTE ]Gayle's got one but I don't think Donnie has any time(let alone an interest)in learning how to use it.Hell I don't think he even SLEEPS! BTW in that pic of the yellow sectioned Shoebox at Lead East, that was Donnie standing on the far side of the car.

  5. I think Ken might have sold it to him;I know he's mentioned his name before. Ken has had several T roadsters;mostly Chrysler Hemi powered. His latest car is a Coast-to-Coast car with a twin-turbo small block.I believe Gayle Banks and he collaborated on the engine. He had to have a closed car as he suffers from skin cancer among other maladies.

I just re-wired this (Christy's sedan) car last winter. Ron Maggio owns it now.

Ray, You're like a stroll through hot rod history!! Thanks so much. I always appreciate your posts. As much as I like those old photos, I love the writeups - first class!!

  12. Thanks for the kind words.I just consider myself fortunate to have grown up in a time and place where there was so much automotive activity. Doing paintwork on cars gave me access to a lot of people I otherwise may not have been in contact with.
I still have a ton of old pictures that haven't been scanned into my document file.I hope to be able to find time to do so in the near future. A lot of stories go with those pictures as well.

Thanks for the exposure, Ray, I can't believe I was ever that thin. Piece o' nostalgia. . . I STILL have the tool box you lettered with "Getch" in "Olde English" and that we "test drove" the three rattle can colors on to see how well they would blend(I believe the green was called "Lime Frost"). Wouldn't part with it for the universe!!!! I'll never forget that day in the carwash. Now you'll have to tell the group what happens when you use a clear that turns yellow on a really awesome blue '61 Pontiac Bonneville! HaHa.
