Don't be afraid of the pink!!! :D

Hahaha, its about half way between titty pink and pussy pink!!!

  2. If his engine is warm and pink, I'm a little afraid to see what he does for a tail pipe. It better not be "furry".

I've heard of lovin' your truck, but Turd may be taking it to a whole new level.

Much more pearly in person. Not quite as bubble gummy in person either. Dupont Nason primer, 2 light coats. Then Dupont Nason Pink Passion base, 3 coats (it looked like pepto bismal at that point, I was scared and disappointed, lol). Then Dupont White Pearl, 2 coats. Then Dupont Clear, 1 light coat followed by one heavy coat.

Wow, that sure is pink. It must look insane in the sun.

  5. Holy shit, that is definately PINK! Gotta love pink. I drove a pink 55 Chevy car for about 18 years, so I am OK with pink. Keep after it. By the way, I sold my old truck 3 weeks ago.
    Later,

The pics are in a dimly lit garage with just a couple of spiral florescent overhead bulbs, hahaha! I haven't pushed it outside yet. I want to let it dry completely. And tomorrow might bring rain. So it may be a couple of days before I get the full effect oustide in the birght sunshine. But I think you're right, yes, it will look insane in the sun!!!

I think folks thought I was kidding when I said I was painting it pink, hahaha! I saw you sold the truck. Congratulations! But I did shed a tear though. That was always one of my favorites!!!

terd, is the pearl already mixed in, or do you add it ?
is it sort of like a clear coat with pearl added ?
8 years ago i painted a bicycle house of kolor lime time pearl, but the pearl was in the green paint. then i cleared over it.
and i once sprayed some metal flake that i mixed in the clear....
just curious how the pearl procees is that you used ?..... thanks.
oh yea, the pink caddy motor is definitely different, and man i love it.. way cool.

    Classy.

Terd that's .....PINK. I think you're going to need to take it easy on the exterior because that's.....pink pink. Excited to see it in person. See the thing is it's not going to matter much what it looks like in the sun since your hood will provide the shade to cancel out a lot of that sunlight. Make sure you absolutely love it before that thing goes in because we only want to do this once! Firewall is going bright white? I'm not thinking Purple pearl for the truck exterior much like the Bill Breece Coupe.

Leonard, the pearl is a whole seperate coat between the base and clear. I used white pearl, but there are other colors. Its not mixed in clear, but it is translucent. When you pour it out, it looks sort of like the inside of an oyster shell. And thanks!!

    Thanks!

For the exterior, I had been thinking the same color but about four shades darker. Closer to the photoshop you did a while back. But that purple coupe is fawking HOT!!!! And purple is Amy's favorite color too! I'll tell you what...I'll hand over exterior color choice entirely to you. So long as you spray it!! :D

And for the record, you'll need to see it in person to get the full effect. Its not so bubble gummy in person. It'll be toned down a bit more with the chrome and stuff on there along with the white firewall. The color I picked out for the firewall is a frosty white with a tiny tinge of blue in it. Its a f*rd color of some sort. And also for the record, I'll be riding with no hood til next winter, to let the sun shine in, hahaha!!!

  14. I'm comfortable enough in my manhood to say I dig that purple and pink coupe. You guys just might be on to something here!

It'll be interesting to see this thing come together.

    You're welcome!!!

You're welcome! I think its an either/or type situation with pearl in the base vs. seperate pearl coat.

Oh we're on to something alright! Not sure what it is though! I've got valve covers and a valley cover. All I need to do now is find a cool intake (got a lead on one) and a cool distributor and I'll have it made in the shade with pink lemonade. Well almost. I've still got to paint the firewall and front frame and then swap the engine in. Oh and about a million other little things like shiny engine bolts and whatnot. So stay tuned, but don't get in a hurry.:D

Thanks! I agree, I think chrome looks better than polished aluminum. I can't put my finger on it, maybe chrome is a blue-er, deeper shine? Anyway, it'll go better with the pearl. Now if I can just get that intake offa that old timer!!!

JJ, you probably forgot the photoshop you did for me a while back, but I didn't. I want you to know I really appreciate it. That was the inspiration for this endeavor!!! I think it came out pretty close. Thanks for being so RAD!!!

I'm on the opposite side. I love aluminum and it's different levels of sheen. Chrome is far more brilliant and depending on the chromer can contain different hues. The best and most high quality chrome should have little to no colors in it as it should be a direct reflection of what's in front of it. Chrome is definitely easier to clean so I would take chrome if you are planning on having a pretty nice engine bay (which you are).

I do think as Del stated that the chrome VC's would look better in this application. It's almost like the pink is so overstated that you might want to tone down the aftermarket parts and just start chroming all the stock stuff. Definitely get an intake and polish or chrome this shit out of that too!

I like the idea of the white firewall. I also wouldn't mind the lip of the hood and inner fenders to be white as well like Weesner's Ford. Oh and I am really feeling that purple.

Funny side note. I am watching this documentary on Transgender people and the little 6 year old boy who believes he is in fact a little girl is painting his room his favorite color......pearl pink. Ok it was just normal pink maybe this is you not being comfortable with the way you were born. Maybe you are Tawney!!!!

"Call doctor Finklestein and tell him you guys can hold off on ma for a while, you got a whole new bag of issue to deal with.

I agree with the preference towards chrome over polished aluminum in this case. And with all the parts back on, there will be a lot less pink when viewed in the engine compartment. I've gotta chrome the water pump now for sure. Or repaint it. But I'm definitely leaning towards chroming it. Same goes for the oil pan. With the other chrome bits like the oil fill, pullies and water outlet, polished valve covers would kind of stick out instead of making a classy blend to the eye. Del is talking about going to see the chromer tomorrow night after the meeting if its not too late......

I really need to figure out what to do about exhaust. My manifolds are worse than beat and pitted.

You're watching transgender documentaries while questioning my sexuality. Hahahaahaha!!!!! :D :D :D I think Alanis Morrissette said it best once way back in the '90s. Something about spoons and a knife or rain on some kind of day or something?
