I've been throwing this together for myself the past few weeks. I bought a really clean driver 30 Sedan in Fresno for a song, took the body off, and put it on a boxed a frame with lightening holes all down the rails, 48 truck banjo, 50 Merc 3 speed, 49 Ford 8BA with Weiand 2 deuce intake and a pair of 94's, 30 Ford front bones, 40 Ford rear bones, 49 F1 Pedals, 40 Juice brakes, 35 Ford wires, Delco Lovejoy Lever Shocks, 7.00-16"s out back, 5.00-16's in front, and an old 4" drop axle.

It's staying un-chopped with a full hood and with an A grille! No Deuce grille here!

The running chassis was donated to the Modified HERE

I was going to take the fenders off, as they are full of lead and bad repairs......but they will be going back on soon with a set of BLC's and a dropped light bar.

I'll post more pics with more detail stuff when I get a chance.....

Here it is fenderless....I'll post pics of it with fenders as soon as I can.

  2. Looks good....That was a pretty clean car to start with....probably like what most guys back in the day had at their disposal.

The car was clean, but not super clean. It was restored in 1959 and very rarely used since. Part of me felt bad taking it apart, but the other 99% of me was OK with it.

Nice, a good (& quick!) way to get a 'new' car on the road!

Great build! I particularly love how you kept every part possible to reuse them on other projects. Very fun way of getting several cars on the road as opposed to getting one car on the road and trying to sell off what you didn't use. Your garage has been turning out some sweet cars lately.

Even your unfinished cars are making me lust. Keep up the good work!

Now that is a great way to "recycle" your way to a traditional Hot Rod ! It is great that you are keeping the fenders.

Thats the Shit! I had a sneak peek at the frame before you but the body on. Great work man! It does look damn good without the fenders.

It's a good thing you didn't take spy photos.

I love it, would have done the same thing if mine was as clean as that.
Great to see another A Tudor up on the rails.

  23. That's perfect! The members from the "Ford Barn" might send a "posse" for you though!;)

  24. What the hell? I thought you built Strange Bird as a daily driver! :D
LOVE your plans. Fenders, hood AND an "A" surround/radiator. As the kids get older and bigger, I find myself thinking of A sedans more and more.

Stay with the fenders! It looks great

  26. Now we would be a nice gang of A's with A grilles on the road. Awesome car. Yes!

I love it! This is the sort of thing I envision every time I see a stock Model A. My uncle has a few stockers . . . and I think I'm probably written out of the will since he knows my hot rod tendencies. ;)

Great Stance. I'm with you re: fenders. My 32 Roadster had fenders also. No offence intended to the high boy crowd, but they are starting to look like belly button cars, with all the fiberglass repros, etc..

  30. That car looks absolutely perfect!
