I received my email from the Hot rod Company and noticed that the new Kustoms
Illustrated is out. The this issue includes coverage of the Customs Then & Now.
How did Luke pull that off? Wasn't the show just yesterday and he already
has it out in his Magazine. Very kool!! Thanks for the quick coverage.

Copied this off of the Hot Rod Company web site......

The feature car is the perfect clone of Hershel "Junior" Conway's '50 Ford Coupe that was
built at the Barris shop between 1956-1958. You have to see this car to believe it, and
we've got full TEN page spread of photos and text for you to enjoy. Rik Hoving is back with
a new series that features never-before-published photos from Larry Watson's personal
photo archive, and we have m***ive event coverage of the now-legendary "Customs -
Then & Now" event that took place just a few weeks ago in Pomona, California. Plus, three
other gorgeous custom cars including Doug Reed's freshly restored "Toad" '49 Oldsmobile,
Beatnik Mike Shea's smooth chopped '50 Ford shoebox, and a breath-taking white pearl '53
Ford Victoria. Oh yeah, and don't forget the latest "Kustom News" and show coverage of
the Winfield / Watson show in Mojave, California. Truly one of the best issues ever!

A couple of HAMBers are featured in this issue. Jeff Meyers (aka Fink'd) built Mike Shea's
50 Ford & Doug Reed's (aka Toad) '49 Olds. Kongrats!

    Happy Trails, Mick

Just got my copies of #28. What an honor to have 2 Kansas kustom featured along with The conway coupe and all those fabulous kustoms from the GNRS. Alan Wrublevski's 53 Victoria is so period perfict. Rik has another great piece on Larry Watson. What an issue. Great job Luke.

On the openings page of my article on the Larry Watson personal photo archive I have used a few nice photos rather small ...

Here is one a bit larger for everybody to enjoy.
Great photo that Larry took of some of the cars he painted in front of one of his paint shops.

    I heart you too, Dave!
Wow, thanks everyone for the great compliments! I feel this is definitely one of my best issues yet, but it wouldn't be great without the help of Rik Hoving who did an absolutely incredible job with the Watson layouts, and to Doug Reed for his awesome photography and stories. They truly made this one of the best issues yet! A BIG thanks to all the other guys who have helped me out with past issues too. Couldn't do it without you all!
    Thanks, Luke

Thanks for the kind words. I feel honored to have my Toad and Mike Shea's ford in this issue. Out here in Kansas we sometimes feel left out. I hope to contribute many more fine kustoms in the future.

By holding off all the subscribers who har***ed him when this issue was a few days late as he worked his *** off to get the GNRS into this issue - and I for one thank him for doing that - it's pissah!

Now stop bugging him because he has to get the next issue done in less time so he'll be back on schedule and he's trying to squeeze a short trip in to Austin .........and y'all want to see him there don't you?
