Looks great Jay! I wouldn't worry about the interior flash rust. Stu

Pour enough SEM Rust Seal into the opening to slosh the interior surfaces completely and let the excess drip out. This product is liquid enough to flow into all the small openings and doesn't require a top coat. It dries quickly and a second coat might be good.

  3. CRIPES MAN! There are CATS in that garage! You'll mess up the time/space thingy. :D
As someone else said, it's part of the chemical dip during the chroming process. Squirrel nailed it..... nothing to worry about in THIS life time.

  4. No problem with cats in the workshop -unless they start to mate with dogs. Apparently a sure sign of the end of days......

Looks like you need a third cat.

I agree. The chemically stripped mild steel is going to rust the minute moisture of any kind hits it. I would have expected to see the same thing and I'll bet it will outlive most all of us before it ever becomes a problem. The rust sort of forms a coating on the steel and it won't get any worse unless it's exposed to constant moisture, IMO.

dump some acid etch primer down the thing and swish it around, maybe even blow some low pressure air into it to force the acid etch primer deeper into the nooks. problem solved.

btw, you are doing one hailluva nice job.
