A LOT of HAMBers feeling your PAIN on this NO-SALE!!!
There sits a project, goin' no place. And right NOW, it
wouldn't take a fortune to trick it out and get it back on
    the road, either!

Wow, ol'Chevy! BJ's held onto some VERY desirable
machines there. AND many of 'em are under ROOF,
too! It's good to see, but you don't see it often.

    Long-roof!

crap. Can't figure out how to put it on here. Darn technology! It's a gennie pace car. Found it about 5 minutes from my house. Drove by for years until a tarp slipped off and I saw writing on the door. Things are starting to thin out around it, hopefully it gets to a good home ( my friend's house!). He has a donor 57 4 door to use for quarters, running gear, etc. It's still savable, just hope someone gets to it before the weather does!

Thanks, RPW! Not a Dictator, is it?

MrSpeed, you are very right about the '57 Turnpike Cruiser -- very rare! Only four true pacecars were made (one source says just ONE, but I doubt it), and only about 1,260 pacecar "replicas" were built. That's one for every 2.5 Merc dealers in existence in 1957! I don't know the survival rate, but it can't be very high.

The Turnpike Cruiser was a gussied-up version of the big Montclair and came with a continental kit and loads of extras. I'd love to show the Cruiser, but this really is a thread for old photos, not current, so I wouldn't want to junk up a junkyard thread! LOL

THANKS again, RPW! Since the Dictator front end was essentially the same as used on the Coupe Express pickup, that Stude didn't ring a bell for me.

Anyway, those folks have some KEEN cars there in France! Did you see the '37 Ford?

Jan, THANKS for solving that long-standing mystery! From the angle, I could believe Buick, but Graham finally explains why the headlight pods are chrome or nickel plated, doesn't it?

I remember hearing of the book (and location) you mentioned. What a dynamic group of vintage autos being protected there! Awesome. If only there were more folks like that with some means AND a real love of early automobiles! Thanks for posting!

Everything at B.J's is for sale....The 55 olds 98 is really nice, it needs to be stripped, minor repairs, driver front fender and paint. The interior is awesome, it is a complete car. I can get you in touch with him. The Buick 8 now belongs to Red Humphries.....

he Bethune yard is halfway between Kershaw and Bethune on 341 at 3 corners of crossroad......Google earth challenge anyone? The old dude looks half dead, but doesn't want to sell anything.

Michel! Your photos are great! Good color and composition, man. Did you use a filter to get such vibrant color?

Remarkable photo of the badge on a Terraplane
found in abandoned condition in 1980 in (of all
places!) Kathmandu, Nepal. (Thanks goes to Wiki-
pedia for both photos, but please note that the pics
are presented only for discussion and info, not for
    any subsequent commercial use.)

I believe this is a '38, possibly a '37, Terraplane, the final model years.
In the later '30s, Terraplanes were outselling Hudsons. So, like LaSalle
and Lafayette, Terraplane was simply folded into its parent comany,
    and the marque disappeared, officially.

Calling all V.T. fans! HAMBer LN7 out of Alberta really
has a great photographer's eye AND plenty of great tin to
work with. Do yourself a favor and go check out his re-
cent posts on RoyalShifter's great thread, "Sitting and
Rotting ....... picture thread." LN7's got scores of great
pics that he shot himself, on pages 82 and 83. A small
sampling borrowed here. I could stare at his pix all
day. It's just like being there, taking a leisurely stroll
in a great boneyard, oblivious to the time! :p TOO
many good ones there to even pick favorites!
