When I Google something about building hot rods I see the H.A.M.B. has usually got the answers. I am just starting my first build and I am sure I will have lots of questions, many of which have already been answered in previous posts I'm sure. It will be nice to get some input on specific stuff too.

I got a cab and frame from a '34 International Pickup. Another cab and grille off a '35-'36 truck. I just picked up a 31 spline 8.8 inch ford that I will shorten on one side to center the pinion and narrow it to 56.5 inches. Probably do a triangulated four-bar on the rear. I'm going to do an early Ford front end (dropped axle, split bones, spring behind, monoleaf, on a low Model A cross member). I want to get it low so I can run tall tires up front, keeping in mind the scrub line of course. 18" wheels should do the trick, I figure. Cab will be chopped and channeled. I got a short 4' bed for it. I got a small block Chevy to drop in it and will likely do a turbo 350. Anyway you get the Idea. I'm going to try and keep it simple.

    Thanks for having me.

  7. I like all old trucks. Always liked the styling of International trucks in the '30s. Henrietta the '38 Ford pickup and Ozelle the '55 Ford send friendly horn honks to you and your Haybaler. Look forward to photos as the build progresses.

  8. [IMG] WELCOME! I am currently in the middle of a 35 IHC pickup build, and hopefully you have a little experience with chopping and working sheet metal. The 30's IHC cabs are a little tricky to chop, but the channeling is easy. I chopped this one 6" with a 5" channel, the roof is pinched 1.5" and the cab shortened 1.5 inches. It will maintain a working tip out windshield, and cowl vent. I had to section the doors in multiple spots to get the body lines correct, and if you channel the cab more than 3" you will have to section the grille shell as well to maintain the height that the cowl has. Good luck with your build, and keep us posted with pics. Hollywood
