Which came first, the Barris Golden Sahara or the Hamilton car? They kind of share some design cues....Pretty neat post.

Elvis favorite watch was a Hamilton Bermuda model, given to him on the set of Blue Hawaii...I know, not car-related...I better watch out :)

Hi man, without meaning to seem pedantic here, the watch that Elvis wore in the movie was a "Ventura" model, and nobody is sure whether it was his own personal watch, which he bought back when they were first released in 57, or one that was given to him for the movie. He also purchased another one in 65 from a jewellery store in Memphis, a rare white gold Ventura, quite strange really, as it must have sat in the shop window for two years, since they quit manufacturing them in 63. I could be wrong, but I don't think Hamilton ever made an electric watch called the Bermuda. Not that it matters much of a car forum:D.

Well,I dug a little deeper and came up with this interesting little article (see attachment). Apparently, in this rare Ford publicity photo the two people you see sat in the car are none other than Betty Page and Richard Arbib! I cannot find any hard facts to support the claim, but it is strongly rumoured (and I suppose it could be said that the photographs supports the claim) that this 1954 Ford concept car, called the FX Atmos was also the work of Mr.Arbib. If this is true, this Cat just seems to get cooler and cooler!

Wow the FX Atmos looks even more like the Golden Sahara than the Hamilton car did...I guess everyone borrows a little on everything creative...(I would guess George Barris in this case, but who knows...)
