My son has been going out once a month and drag racing his mini bike. Now this is a private deal with a group of friends and the organizer asked I not tell no one where it is, Lets just say its a back ally in the OC? Anyway this month I got an invite and had a blast, This morning I went to the Long Beach motorcycle swap and bought a mini bike(an old taco I think?) Anyways I'll let the pics tell the story.
    A sample of the bikes

We have been doing mini bike drags at the SouthWest nostalgia nats a couple of times a year and having a ball doing it! First time out I was laughing so hard I didn't realize I was stuck in the track stickum goo.... Not ideal racing conditions for a mere 3HP Briggs kninda deal! Put a tweeked 5 horse on though, I'll get 'em in March! Wish I was closer to your end of the world - that would probably end up to be a weekly thing for me!!! 45 and just discovering the joys of mini bike ownership! Sheeeesh!!!

Might as well drop a couple of picts too...

Lot of fun! But shouldn't you have your nose to the grindstone? El Mirage will be here before you know it!!

P.S. Can I bring this to the next meet?

Reminds me of the "Big Willie" and the L.A. Street Racers back in the Industrial section of Anaheim, complete with the "tree" in 1969-70!!! From the buildings, it may not be too far away from there! LOL!

if the black one pictured first is your recent purchase, it appears to be a 1966 or older Taco 22. Taco stopped bolting frames together in 1967. Check the rear stay, should be a number stamped there. first digit is the year (e.g., 6 = 1966). This digit will be followed by a letter. should be a "P" on this one.

This little bike is fast. Even without the NOS on it still smokes the tire the lenght of the 125' strip.
