pulled my F1 project out of the garage and snapped a few pics

Discussion in 'The Hokey Ass Message Board' started by tulfabrication, Feb 26, 2011.

  1. i dont have a progress thread or anything on this truck, but i finally finished all the "major" fabrication on it and wanted to see how it looked outside the garage.

let me just start by saying; yes! the truck will have paint, a finished seat...it will be a finished truck so dont be thrown off by it's almost ratrod like appearance.

as of right now, the drivers side sits about an 1 1/2" higher up front which i have yet to fix. i still have some work to do on my cowl vent as i recently excavated all the bondo out of its original spot. (also have wing windows in the garage). btw its also getting a narrowtrack kit for the front to fix the wide track width

but it is satisfying to see it come out of the garage and park under its own power, now its just time for the details. Im really trying to get it done with paint this spring.

let me know what you think guys!

  11. wow, thanks for all the compliments guys, it really means a lot!

choptvan, to answer your question; hell yes, if the roads arent covered in snow, i wanna be driving this thing! by the way do you do upholstery? im looking for someone to do my seat that wont cost an arm and a leg.

rusty1, the rear wheels are 17" steelies off a base model dodge charger however stock they have a 5" backspacing, so i took them to tru-design wheel here in denver and they moved the rim face back to about a 3 1/2" BS. the fronts will be on there after the narrowtrack but with the original 5" BS to give it a staggered look.

eventually i want to do spider caps to kinda draw attention away from the holes in the rims.

toner, heres my engine, sbc with an eddie cam, valvecovers, intake and some other goodies. should be reliable and healthy (next time around ill prob go with a ford roller 302 though). sorry for the dirt, (and temp wiring)...and the yellow white trash accel wires are going to be replaced

Are you leaving the gas tank in the cab or relocating it to the rear frame?

    Nice Truck ..sits Great!!

  18. its in the cab, the "enclosure" you see in back is going to be a storage area under my bed along with a place to put my battery. the back part of my bed floor (behind my notch) will be hinged and on struts so it opens up almost like a trunk on a car. it will also lock too.
