I've been getting more parts for my 63 Impala and one of the parts I recieved is the beauty ring that goes around the ignition switch. Does anyone know how the "front" part of the key switch comes off so I can screw the ring on? There's a small hole next to the slot where the key goes, does that release if you stick something in there? Thanks!

if i believe right, a paper clip should slide in the hole to release the inner lock.

With the keys in the ignition switch, turn to far left, take a paper clip, poke it thru the little hole, depressing a spring loaded nub, continue to move the key slightly further to the left..this will allow the lock cylinder/key portion to come out.
