    Hello Hambers,

I came across a rare set of after market trim kit for buicks 54-56 Supers & Roadmasters n.o.s from the 50s.A good friend of mine has had it in his possesion for at least 8 year and never opened it untill he found a good home for it.Thanks Luke, we opened it with care to preserve the box and staples to this find. Inside i took pics you can see a quality stencil to mark the holes for the front and back were the trim adds on to the stock Buick trim. This kit is all stainless and has all the hardware and a funny little sketch of a Buick lol. So im gonna make a copy of these instruction. The originals are briddle.I bet these kits were used alot for custom apps for anything other than what they were made for. If anyone has seen this are has a add from an old magazine please add to this thread or pm me. I will post up pics of the progress for this project! Thank:cool:s Chuckyboy

Neat! that'll sure ruin the beautiful original design of the car....yet it's traditional to do so.

Look for JC Whitney ads, I found one for a 56 ford stainless two tone dress up kit. cost about $40

Well if you look at my album theres pics of it with no top. I have found this buick with no roof and motor i was able to put my other wrecked buick guts and roof on it. Its chopped 3 inchs in front 4 in the rear. Thanks for everyones opinion but i have to sketch this out and see what its gonna look like before i start drilling.

I like it a lot, I say go for it. I look forward to seeing it all done. Are you planning on yellow and black, or is that just for photoshop purposes?

It makes the car look like it`s sectioned.

  12. Wow! What a rare accessory. I've never seen one new, in a box.
Consider it will be part of your retirement fund.
Pack it away for another 40 0r 50 years.

Well it does look way better than I thought it would! All that car needs now is some chrome reverses with spider caps and wide whites!

  14. Interesting piece!I've never seen one before and I have mixed feelings on how it would look on the car.Your car is done really nice and my suggestion would be this:

To get a really good idea on how it would look,VERY carefully open the packages and tape the trim pieces into position with 3/4" masking tape and stand back and observe.

For what it's worth:it's your car;do as YOU see fit and screw what others think.

It's your car,but it seems strange to take a car with the trim everyone always
liked and change it to something else.

The photoshopped pic looks nice. Go for it and then tell anyone who asks that it's a rare factory option. 10 to 1, they will believe you.

  22. Oh no that looks terrible you should box it back up and I will get rid of it for you. You don't want that shitty old thing.:D
I think some people are confused. It looks to me that the original trim would stay and this is just an extra upper piece of trim. Please correct me if I am wrong. Either way thumbs up over here, do it Chuck.

I like what you’ve done in Photoshop. Post REAL pics once you’re done. I say “go for it!”

Thanks for all the positive and negative feed back it has been funny. The trim just adds to the stock trim. This car will be done in a mild custom fashion. It is a ROADMASTER upper class in its hay day so i will treat it accordingly. I plan to shave the door handles , attena (french duals)? modify the rear bumper a bit. Im happy with the grill 47 plymouth floating bars( i destroyed two grilles to make this wrk) but i love the power windows and seats and brakes... But i will keep updating the progress! chuck
