I am looking at some early uni-lug wheels and need to see if you can convert to 5 on 5 1/2 early ford. does any one know if it can be done and how is best. It looks like the multiple pattern doesn't include early ford. any help would be great.
    thanks

It would highly depend on the type of wheel and material it is made of. I have gone the oposite route with a slot mag, and went from 5 on 5 1/2" to 5 on 4 1/2".

    1) Re-drill the hubs to a bolt pattern that fits the wheel.
    2) Machine an adapter that bolts to the 5x5.5" pattern and hold studs in one of the patterns that fits your wheel. This route will decrease your effective backspacing.

In both cases, choose the largest bolt pattern that fits the wheel.

The wheels are aluminum. They are fairly rare et3
2 piece. I don't want to drill the hubs as this will be a second set of wheels. Would an adapter work with the uni-lug and all it's inserts etc. Has anyone welded and drilled wheel pattern. Oh also the back of the wheel center has a little casting webbing for lightning example not completely flat.
