So, I work on old Ford transmissions every Wednesday and always come home with some gear oil stank on my hands that just won't wash off. I try to wear gloves, but I always get my hands dirty anyway. Does anybody have a good remedy for gear oil stink on the hands? Sometimes the old stuff is pretty fierce - like a three day stank! Will Kimble
No, I got nothing. Know what you mean though, have the same problem with my finger when I check the Rear End .
Just resign yourself to sleeping in the garage on newspaper for a couple of weeks. And be prepared to defend yourself against wandering animals who think they have found a dead whale...
Dish soap gets most of it for me. Just be sure to clean the outside of the bottle when you are done! She got a couple times on that one.
A little brake clean works good, although probably causes far worse things than the gear oil and or smell, but I figure I have to die somehow....
last time I spilled it all over my arms and my pants! haha yuck! i just use orange gojo a few times..
Sounds kinda weird but I've found that tooth paste works pretty good. If it don't all come off rinse em with Scope-if it don't get it off it'll cover it up some.
Lemon juice or vinegar then wash that off with soap. lemon is good thats why they serve it with fish.
son of a b#tch! Some 75W90 leaked into the carpet on my truck last weekend (daily driver) and it stinks to high heaven.
Windex, dab dab dab, Windex, dab dab dab, Windex, dab dab dab Windex is wonderful stuff on upholstery. Just make sure its the real stuff as the look a like contain little if any Ammonia. ps, works on hands too.
Your woman is gonna think you have a new Ho. Better find something quick or you'll be in the doghouse or worse.
Mean green hand cleaner works better than any hand cleaner out there that I've ever used & I've been a line tech for over 15 years. www.meangreen.com
Spill a few beers on the floor, burn some methanol, drink some of the beers, eat a hot dog. Just like being at Ascot. Well, it will smell the same, but their will never be another Ascot.
