Ooooo... satin red w/ heavy flaked pearl or silver top... that'd be cool.

Very nice Buick. Makes me pine for my nailhead.

Thanks for all the good comments and suggestions. I need to get into the bodywork before I figure out what color she is gonna be.
So progress has been slow because of the constant rain, but I did manage to get into it a little sanded and primed the hood, and started on the Drivers Quarter. I have only gotten into it a little and it is starting to worry me. The rear body line was shaped with bondo!!

Looking good - you have a pretty arcane taste in cars.
Good luck with the restoration. It loses a lot of its character in matt black in my achingly humble opinion

I got the drivers side quarter all cleaned up. It was filled with a ton of bondo, and now I see why. I guess whoever owned it before me hit a lot of things. It is gonna take me a while to massage the metal, and fix the rust. Man this is a huge quarter!

I need some advice from some of the metal master's on the HAMB. I need a game plan to attack the damage on this quarter. How would you guys do this?

I mounted my wires about a month ago, and was waiting for a nice day to throw them on. Well it was over 50 today, so I took that opportunity to throw them on the car.

Sweeeet !! Definately the wires....and RED !! The gloss black looked good, but the red has the "Gotcha" factor all over it.

    Kimb82,

Just found your thread. Thanks for your service!

The car looks great. I have '65 Rivis and it's amazing all the similarities on interior treatments. It's going to be a cool car. The wires and red paint nail it (pun intended).

You going to lower it a bit more, right? Maybe we'll see you around at a cruise or show. You ever come to SW part of WA?

    Later,

    Mike

I grew up around these cars! My Mother still has her 64 Vert. My 64 LeSabre I bought from my father. I like them because you don't see them to often!
My plan was to paint it a Gloss Black!

Thanks, still undecided on the color. I like the factory red, but the black with red interior is gorgeous!

    Thanks!
I do plan on being down at Billetproof. You gonna be there?

  27. those wheels really look great on your car! black would be great but the stock red looks good also. time to learn about body repair or your gonna have to shell out $$$$ to get that fixed. beware the guy that can fix that for "walmart" prices because chances are they will fuck it up or worse run off with your money!

Cool car. I too like the red. Good luck with it. Seeing it takes me back to when my grandparents bought a new Wildcat in 64. Boy that thing was long... I remember it had "425" on the air filter cover. It was a dark, creamy chocolate brown as I recall. Keep up the good work.

In June? I should be there, but I don't know if I'll have a car running by then... maybe I should trailer one?

    Later,

    Mike
