How many lbs of boost can a stock---(example LM1 350) 350 take before cracking?

In other words, what is the amount of boost in lbs., just under the amount that would cause cracking, that the block can take on a daily basis without cracking?

NOTE: "Daily basis" would be defined as 4 to 5 1/4 mile p***es or equivalent everyday, 7 days per week. Maximum rpm would be just under 5000.

lol, loaded question Dude, whatever you start with will be enough,, for a while, then you'll tweak it for a bit more. soon that wont be quite enough so another tweak.

after 3-4 tweaks, something goes TWOOOONKKKKKKK and you start all over with a new motor, swearing I'll never do that again.

a week or 2 later,, your back at it.

actual answer depends on what motor, and what compression ratio it has. you probably wont be able to put more 6-7 pounds into a stocker without hurting the pistons.

My dad used to have a friend a long time ago whose father owned a diesel shop. They would get ahold of some big diesel turbo and mount in on an undesirable junkyard 350 and drive it around until it blew. He claimed that they were at one point putting 30 lbs into one engine and it lasted almost a week.

I agree with Tinman that the most you will want to put on a stocker and have it last is about 6-7 lbs.
