    Yes..
Been waiting for an update on this..hope to see it done..

  3. I've been metal finishing the front fender and doing some shop organizing. Fair amount of work being done but dang little visible progress. Once you start metal bumping it redefines the meaning of SLOW TIME!

Actually Saturday, a couple buddies are coming in for a few days of play time so hopefully in a week or so I'll have some new photos to show.

  4. Forgot to post photos from last falls progress on the body:

One thing I had noticed was the frame deflected a good bit when I picked it up on my lift. So much that I couldn't set the door gaps. Decided to beef up the frame.

The original frame was 3x3x3/16 Wheelbase is 116" (bigger car than it looks)

    1.jpg

Added a 2x2 to the top of the frame rails.

    8.jpg

then pulled the engine and added these braces from the X member to the front. Additional Xs will be installed in the rear kickup and above the rear suspension.

Kerry, That is one neat retro rod you have built ! Love the curves of the body. Has better lines than a Playboy Model ! Looking forward to seeing further progress.

Looks fantastic. I feel for you having to beef up the frame, I had the same thing with my '36. Same as you, I sistered another 2x3 tube under the main rails, and gusseted the kick up. No worries now. The wires are a BIG improvement over the original Escalade rims!

  18. Life happens. I decided I did not love the back end. Just too butt heavy so I cut it off between the fenders and started over.. Rough whack off. Y 006.jpg Looking for a flatter deck and rear.
    Y 010.jpg
Roughed out but not welded in place yet.

Haven't spent much time on it lately. Life got in the way.

It's very clear that you can "see" where you're going with this. Very impressive, smooth. I have 1 word for you that you might not like but I can 'see' it. Skirts. Rear only, maybe an opening that flows with the rest of the motif. Think late 30s Alfa 2900 (I think it's the 2900).

A quick image search generated this:

This one's too big in it's flair and design, but it might inspire. Way kool man, way kool, engine and all.
