Finally my turn, I thought it'd never happen. I have known about this car for about 3 years now, as well as A LOT of local people, it's been an east coast hot rod for over 50 years and has been in the same owner's hands for the last 41 years. The car has been in the same corner of a garage with parts piled all over it for the past 30 years, until today when it finally saw the light of day. I sold my roadster body last week so it was time to find a new body for my ch***is. I made a deal for a '32 tudor sedan I'll be getting in a few weeks, but I still wondered what had come of this '32 5w. I decided to stop over the fella's house, he went to high school with my dad, and his health has been declining the last time I was there. He beat leukemia, but now has prostate cancer and he told me that he's come to grips with letting the old '32 go, but he wanted it to go to me, he was just waiting for me to stop over again, he said he wouldn't have sold it to anyone else! I was ecstatic! He told me he knew it was going in good hands and he knew it'd hit the road once again. I originally wanted to restore this to a full subframe, stock like body with the chop, but now I think I'm going to just going to clean the body up, redo the channel job to make it safe and get it back on the road as an early 60's hot rod. Chopped, channeled, blown. The chop is VERY nice, all leaded, as well as the shaved cowl vent. This is the original red lacquer it had back in the day, and it's rumored to have been featured in the "little books" at one time. Maybe someone has pictures of it? The rear pan is definitely a custom touch from back then. The down side? Someone torched the driver side lower cowl for a steering box, it has VERY little rust around the boom of the driver door and rear lower quarter, and the filled roof is caved in now, BUT the tack strip is still there under the metal, so I'll be able to get that all sorted out! Supposedly the car came from the northeast area if anyone has info on it. Well enough talk and on to the pics!

Be nice if you could get it finished in time to let the old guy take it for a ride.

The first thing you should do when it's road worthy is give that a man a ride.

That's the first thing I said to him when it gets on the road. I told him I'd stop over and show him progress pictures as I was building it, but he just said, I'm sure I'll see it around sometime, I could tell it was a bittersweet parting with the deuce.

  13. Awesome find - congrats.

I love the chopped, chanelled and blown idea. Of co****, I may be a little biased.
Here is the Deuce I'm just starting to rebuild. 6x2 instead of a blower for me though.

The rear pan does look A LOT like a diaper, it's definitely going off the car, I'll make a new one that actually looks correct for the lines of the body. I can't wait to get started on it, but my Rolling Bones ch***is car is getting finished first before I start building the ch***is for this one.
