I've been trying to find the right tire/wheel combo for my 40. The color of the car is really different and is making it tough. I'm really liking the original black 16" wheels with bias ply firestones. Real "hot rod" look, and I think it's the right look for the hopped up flathead. Anyway, which do you prefer? As I got it, pinstripe radials on 15" chrome wheels: Wide White radials on the 15" chrome wheels: Wide white Firestone bias ply on 16" original Ford wheels:
My vote is for the 15" chrome wheels with wide whites. The black wheels look good too, I just think the chrome goes good with your paint color. The car looks great in all 3 btw.
Damn. Just noticed the 15's on chrome wheels had radials. ...I'm swithchin my vote to black wheels and bias plys.
With that lovely blue, the chrome reverse and whitewalls look best to me. The black 16's look to harsh, maybe paint them an accent colour if you prefer the 16 thing. Just my two cents worth.
I would normally go for the chrome wheels and wide whites, but with that color, I think the stock black wheels and WWW look the best. If you find the bias tires don't work for you, you can go with the bias look radials that are available. The Rolling Bones crew uses them and they are road tested hard by those boys!
#2. Wide whites and chrome wheels. #3 is my second choice. Black wheels need something to ****e them up.

#3 gets my vote. Need something to break up the black tho. Trim rings and some chrome bullet lugs and it would look great!
