I searched and couldn't find this specific info.

So let's say you're walking along, minding your own business, and you trip over a model A roadster ch***is in the weeds.

Could you tell it apart from a coupe or sedan frame?

    Thanks!

IF the rear spring is still attached ...
you can tell by looking at the number of leafs.

A sedan has more than a coupe, a coupe has more than a roadster

AT this is true with 32 Fords :D

For a Hotrodders purpose ... there is no difference as far as I know
    in the frames by itself.

They are the same but odds are a few of the body mount holes won't line up with a replacement frame, not a big deal..Seems that deminsions moved around some over the "A" years..

Excellent. Thanks guys. That's what I thought. I'm getting ready to chop up a frame that was from a roadster to salvage some good parts from it.

I wanted to know if there was a reason to save some arbitrary specific chunk with a rivet or dimple in it that only came on roadsters.

This frame is completely toasted. There is one frame horn that is worth keeping, the other one has been torched off already. Both of the cross members have been broken, re-welded and reinforced with chunks of s**** and then re-broken.

  7. actually the front crossmember is different

Yes, please tell how the front crossmember is different. I know early 28 Fords had a solid front motor mount in the crossmember, but that's it as far as I know, but I am always wanting to learn.

  10. its different in the 2 pads where the radiator mounts
    30-31 is lower
    28-29 is higher
also early 28's were solid mounted to the front of the negine

Model A frames are all the same. A roadster, coupe or sedan will all bolt on the same frame. Even the same mounting points if I'm not mistaken.

Oh. yeah, I know that 28-9 and 30-1 are different. I'm looking for info regarding the difference from 'Coupe' and 'Roadster' frames.

It sounds to me; they are identical.

    Thanks again!

they are identical, minor differences between 28/29 and 30/31, close enough to easily be interchangeable

There was actually a guy who looked at my 28 model a truck rolling ch***is today. He has a coupe and wanted to know if it would fit. I am guessing the only differences are leafs, body mounts and wheel size? It seems like when I see a reproduction A frame it doesn't specify for what body type. Not trying to hi jack just thought it was somewhat on topic.
