Anyone interested in N. Illinois Rod Runs?

Discussion in 'The Hokey Ass Message Board' started by Francisco Plumbero, Jan 20, 2011.

  1. Not to hijack but there are at least 3 eagles along the Fox River on Rt 25 in the Montgomery, Oswego area. There is a nest in the cemetary on Rt 25 in Montgomery.

Not hijacking at all, eagles are excellent, our female counter parts and copilots love that kid of stuff as do a lot of us and it's a great idea to send a route out in a direction to see that kind of sight, way cool, thanks.

We saw the first female in a tree by the foot bridge in Batavia by the island park/ police station. Then we saw a HUGE male by the pool/ pond thing Batavia has off of Water street/ 31, he was sitting on a branch just checking things out. When we were driving thru Elgin, we saw a male flying low over the Fox so we pulled over to watch him soar around. My wife took a ton of photos but she lost them all off the card thing when she tried to load them on the puter. I guess we'll have to go back to look for more. Mitch.

if you guys/gals decide to do a RT66 run and go as far as Pontiac Il.
they have cool azz Rt66 museum there. I would have posted a link to
it but not sure if that's ok here.

They have a huge (the worlds largest) RT 66 mural on the back of the
building you can park in front of for a great picture.

I went on my first run like this last fall with my OT Olds drag car. It was
about 60 mile trip w/ 80 other cars. Some HAMB friendly, and some not.
But we all got along and had a blast.

Have you had any more feed back on your Reliability Run style of multi-cruise? Got a few Chicago area Hambers talking about it. BILL RINALDI

I'd be interested in either a Byron Run or one in the St. Charles area.

If I find a car worthy of purchasing this summer, I would definitely be in.
All I have for cruising now is a motorcycle, and it's not even a cruiser.

I love the open road in a hot rod. Ill keep watching this thread. I would like to get in on this. The wife and I took off for Graceland in the 29 one weekend. We cheat and use the GPS to stay OFF the Interstates. Anyway the road stoped and we had to load the 29 on to a barge cross the river to keep going. It so so neat seeing my hot rod on that barge and riding down the river we made a point to go back the same way to do it again. Funny how little things pop up and make for a good time along the way.
