Isky Max 1

Why is it that of all the Isky cams for flatheads the Max 1 for the late flatties is the most expensive? 299 vs 259 for all the rest both larger and smaller?

 

Popularity, it's one of the better/best grinds.

Ed has been doing it for probably the longest and has the most experience EG patterns.

Isky either uses only CW blanks or has custom blanks made locally.

I mean "THE CAM FATHER". Gotta account for something.....

 

If you want it to sound like a stocker …. that’s the one to get.

 

Ok so now I'm weighing my options. Can someone help me understand how the Isky 88 is considered hotter than the Max1 but has a lot less lift and less duration at 050? The Max1 is a higher lift, faster acting cam since the advertised duration and 050 duration are close to the same figure telling me that it is a steeper ramp profile.

I have the Max 1 in my 8ba in my '28 roadster and it definitely has a lope to it.
