Picked up a 49' Ford a couple weeks ago.... been doing some things to it, knowledge is limited but screw it here goes nothin !
A little about myself ? Well, my favorite color is blue.... I like long walks on the beach.....haha..... nothing much to know here, 40yr old, married, two kids and a dog. The "Shoe is my first car/hotrod, whatever. Always been into cars but motorcycles took up most of my time in the past.... bunch of Shovels, Pans.... but my son (8yr) really started to show an interest in cars, especially when I would talk to my dad about his 54' Dodge PU and when he was gonna give it to me, LOL ! So we decided to get a car/project that the boy and I could work on. Always liked the 49-51 Fords and then came to find out my father-in-law's first car was a 49'..... so...... we looked around and found a decent starter. 49' Club Coupe w/ 52' 8BA Flattie and trans, Maverick rear, Fatman drop spindles, lowering blocks in the rear.... runs, drives.... fun. Working on door and window seals right now. Getting a little pissed at the vent windows/seals.... might just do away with them and do power windows with one big piece of gl*** as I plan on SOMEDAY cutting the top so doing away with the vent windows would prolly' be on the agenda anyways.... I like the vents, but the car is decked, shaved, etc already and getting rid of the vent windows would clean it up even more.... but who knows, I haven't done anything but take the vent ***embly out because the window track needs replaced....... So, doors/window seals, door hinges, prolly bear claws and maybe power windows are first on the list. Gotta get them doors just right...hehe. Ok, take a breath.........
Welp, it's on jack stands right now as I need to get my wheel situation straightened out... but that should be finished by the weekend so I'll snap one off after it's back on the asphalt. Thanks for the interest !
