  2. My stock wheels are in storage, I can get out there to measure in the next couple days. For a quicker answer go to 57fordsforever.com

Here are the wheel sizes I had on my hardtop. They fit with no mods to the car:

    17X7 with 4.25 backspace - Tires 245/45/17

    Rear Wheels:

18X8 with 5.25 backspace - Tires 255/55/18 (those are pretty tall so also consider 255/45/18)

Another note... On my convertible, I just narrowed the rearend by 3/4" and was able to use stock backspacing and that will save you $100 per wheel depending on the type of wheel you order.

There was a 14" x 5" used in '57 on regular cars, and a 14" x 5.5" used on wagons. Both were K-H products. The 5" was K-H #41545 and the 5.5" was K-H #41549. They both are listed as having .62" of positive "offset". But since you are asking for "backspace", that will depend on which wheel you want on your car. You'll want to calculate using the below chart to find your exact backspace figure. Notice that you'll have to add about 1/2" to the wheel width on each side to compensate for the rim lips. My quick calculations show you'll want a 3.62" backspace on a 5" wheel, or 3.87" backspace on a 5.5" wheel. Stu
