I'm putting a 425 caddy in a '51 chevy and am wondering if there is someone out there thats done it already and has pics or drawings of the motor mounts that they fabricated, if not, any and all advice will be appreciated. Also need info on the trans/crossmember mount,(400 turbo). Thanks, Gerry
I clicked on it and it took me to a very well done tech post. http://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/showthread.php?t=48245 Do you see pics in other posts?
Good article, but the caddy mounts look more like leaf spring bushings, just two ears on the block. Thanks,Gerry
Real quick what I did... everyone who has a Nailhead probably has a set of old busted mounts around, I took the part that bolts to the engine and removed all the rubber off of it... made the rest of it to mount to that... basically if you have two stock Caddy mounts it'd be very simple to fab a set like these up... and take a look at the mounts some people make for SBC in the '51... you can make something that combines the two...
