Doesnt make any difference. Asked for paint ideas on my '63 Grumman, and the silence was deafening. But then again, I can understand it, it aint exactly a hot rod. I'm here to pick up knowledge on the 292 I-6 that moves it.
Yep, you're right. No-one talks about anything newer than 64 on here, and certainly no ice cream trucks, step vans, or anything like that.
Sorry that's because this is a site dedicated to Hot Rods, if you start buying older buses you may get a conversation. There is a thread about step vans on here all for the most part pre 64. use the search function and look for show us your step vans. maybe you can get some ideas.
Not true a search would have got you this http://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/showthread.php?t=282902&highlight=step+vans&showall=1
i've built a few pre 57 ice cream trucks, all white with one exception a '48 ford "good humor" with baby blue fenders. we made the blue by using white paint and adding blue tint. the truck had a 350/350 open cab and a dry ice box, fastest ice cream truck around.
Sorry guys. I stumbled upon the step van thread in doing some research, which of course had plenty of trucks newer than 64. It inspired me to do something different, but at the same time, I am limited by funds, and while I found some cool older rides, they're always too far away. I'm working with the best available option. Thanks for all the great suggestions, and have a great day.
Remember the old Hamb where FNG's and Newbies would LISTEN that they were in the wrong place? Now they argue with the site rules. It ain't your F-ing place to decide what matters, what belongs, etc.
I kinda like it. Actually, I want it. It's cooler than those threads where people think Paul Lemat is actually a hotrodder named Milner.
Heck, I can't remember where in this thread any noob was arguing site rules. Talk about the short bus...
You're the newb in your thinking: It does make a difference. Nobody wants to post paint ideas on you 63 Grumman, and nobody wants to see his 84 whatever.
Ya know, after the first reply, I figured I was in the wrong, despite the fact that there's plenty of similar, although mostly older, vehicles discussed here. I looked all over this forum, and while I may be a freaking idiot, I couldn't find anything in any post about site rules pertaining to year, other than 'traditional'. Granted, this ain't traditional, but either way, I appreciated the way in which you do things. Obviously my appreciation is, for the most part, of a bunch of guys in a bubble of living in the upper echelon. If you want to talk ****, fine, talk your ****. I honestly couldn't care less. I didn't 'decide what matters, what belongs, etc.'. I asked a question. If you don't like the ****ing question, I really don't give a ****.
Yes, but they do like to hear from a gl*** installation master tech, and a paint and body shop owner. So, what is it that you bring to the table? A keyboard?
Oohh an exceptionally hostile newb! Here is an excerpt from Ryan that I'm sure you read when you signed on: "Even if you have come here for all the right reasons, dont expect posting to be easy. We dont cater to new fellas unless they show a dedication to spreading this tradition of ours first. We welcome young, old, foreign and all but our original members and our staff expect a certain level of respect and an effort to keep things true and on topic." An ability to understand what this site is about. And to embrace it and defend it. And if you bother to look into it, I do a little bit of car related stuff......
After multiple pages of how many Vice Grips you own a thread on Ice Cream trucks doesn't seem out of line................................ This thread needs a picture!
Real nice at***ude, post an OT topic and then tell us to F off, real nice. What ever happened to the Good Humor man?
