Are there any decent machine shops in the greater balto/d.c. area you can recomend?

    Notes:

    1) From what i've heard, the Coleman brothers are supposedly retired, but i hear that they are still working on engines. Therefore, if there's any way you could put me in contact with them, this would be so helpful.

    2) Aside from the Colemans, i am willing, to a certain extent, to take verbal abuse/insults from an older individual provided he/she is good.

    3) Also, money not a problem.

why is everyone in front of a computer and NOT at Hershey? :)

And I would not suggest you walk into a machine shop and mention #3.

    Precision Engine Machine is great

They are right near the Pepsi Bottleing plant in Hyattsville. Pretty Ghetto area though. I used to hang out there at night, after 6 we closed the chain link gate with razor wire on top. Dyno testing engines and I would Blast parts for Mike.

I also suggest Bill Coleman. He is one of the most knowledgeable engine machinists that I have met. He is very down to earth and easy to talk with. Here are his numbers. 410-859-1924 or 410-859-3007. His shop is at his house located in Linthi***; just off the Baltimore beltway.

BILL COLEMAN is known as "THE GOD FATHER" to all the Hot Rod Machinist and Machine shops in the Baltimore/DC/VA/DE/PA Areas. He was setting speed and ET records here in the east that the west coast had to chase the following week. He knows how to do anything you need or want to do. When he speaks, You listen or you will be the looser! He will tell you no lies. David and Bill Coleman.... The Coleman Brothers Speed Shop...DARK HORSE FROM THE EAST

Thank you so much for the Bill Coleman info. So, is this still a "business?" i don't want to bug a guy if this is just his personal shop.

Also, thank you for the Precision recommendation; They seem to be a decent run shop.

Yes, Bill still runs the machine shop in the large garage behind his house. He works out there Monday-Saturday. He is in his seventies and has no plans to retire. Dave lives down in the Carolinas having retired from the government. Both of these guys are VERY VERY knowledgable about building engines. I hope you give Bill a call.
