I have a 62 Impala 4 door that I just dropped 3 in.Does anyone know when Chevy changed over to 15 inch steel wheels.Would a first year 5 lug Chevy 1/2 ton PU rim work?I know the dog dish hub cap is the same size,,,Let me know gang!!CJ.
I think chevy actually changed from 15's to 14's in '57. And then went back to 15" when the rallye's came out? The truck lug pattern is 5x5 and your car along with many gm cars is a 5x4.75 bolt pattern. Larger cars like cadillacs and buicks had a 5x5 bolt pattern too.
My 51 has factory 15" wheels and my 57 has factory 14" wheels, so yeah they changed from 15s to 14s at some point
If your looking for a run of the mill 15x7 hubcap wheel. Late 70's impala's had them,73-77 monte carlo's,and more I believe had them. I like to go to those recycled tire and wheels place and bring the bolt pattern gauge, tape measure, and straight edge so i can measure backspace.
'70 full size chevys went back to 15' with 5 x 4 3/4 bolt circle.......and as noted by previous poster, monte carlos too......... Ray
