Thank you all for all the offers to help push this thing around. Ya know. If I can get enough people to push, we could make a run down the strip!!! HA!. Maybe not.

I wish we could revive the excitement and spectator crowd that Beeline Dragway had in the late 60's and 70's. Look at the stands, most photos I seen and what I remember when my Dad and I went it was packed on both sides of the track. How did they promote those events to get so many spectators? I know the used to do a lot of radio commercials, I remember hearing........Sunday.... Sunday.....Sunday....Bring yourrrrr cameraaaa!!!! Any Ideas how to bring that excitement back in this day in age?

Well... I got my 2 horse-power racing machine, THE AH-KNEE-A-LATOR, all fixed back up after its big crack-up earlier this week.... Looking forwasrd to seeing you guys on Sunday!

Hey Chip, you're bringing the fire right?

  11. Guys, the reason we are using the Jomax gate this time, is it's almost a straight shot to the car show /HAMB hospitality area.
The gate is roughly behind the two SUV's at the top of this picture, behind the staging lanes
When you come through the ticket booth, turn right and head towards the first set of bleachers to the left of the timing tower.
Just ask for a number card and you will be allowed to park your vintage ride in the show area; No extra charge.
We'll have the show tickets and number cards at the Happy Valley gate too, should you choose to enter that way. Just stop and tell the general adm. parkers where you are headed

    Thanks

Best one yet!!! Got to see so many friends, worked on damn near every mini bike in the place... Broke couple too!!! (sorry Nick!) Wanted to say a quick hello to H.A.M.B.er Beatnik Pirate from P.A., nice to meet you sir, and thanks for hanging out for a bit! Oh, big congrats to Glen Kramer "s***chem" on his epic mini bike drags win!
One big question I have for you guys though - after running the H.A.M.B. booth three or four times now, what do you guys want from your H.A.M.B. hospitality booth? Quite frankly, I've been wingin' it! What kinda' stuff can I offer you guys? There has got to be more to it right?
I'll post some pictures up in the next day or so after I figure out how to load them.
As always, thanks to Mark and Spike for a *****in' day!

My thanks to Mark and Spike and everyone else involved, as always, it was a blast! I was a numbskull at the starting line all day. On my first run I stalled the engine at the line, restarted and ran 21 seconds and change. The rest of the day I was just plain asleep at the lights. My two ok qualifying runs were 15.31 and 15.21 so in the first round I set my dail in at 14.99 (shoulda been 15.00, but that was too embarr***ing to put on the window). I ran a 14.91, broke out and got eliminated! ( my painfully slow reaction had nothing to do with it, ya...that's it...I just went too fast;)).

The only bummer was in the pits. I got there early and found a nice empty spot along the fence about halfway down the track. I shared that spot with my freinds John and his white '66 Dodge truck and Douglas in his blue '57 Chevy. Three cars in one spot, we did our part to help with the crowded pit stuation. At one point we had all wandered away from our spot and when I returned, the jack*** that was racing in the late '60s Ford short bed with zoomie headers and lighning bolts painted on the side ("Big Funder") has his tow truck and trailer crammed in our spot. When I told him this is our spot, we have three cars in here, he said "Oh, well I was in this spot yesterday". I was thinking that was yesterday, this is today mother****er, but I didn't say anything and just let it go to avoid a h***le. Made it a very crowded pit. What a chump, that's just plain bad form.

As I said, I just didn't let it get to me and I had a blast anyhow.

  26. Thanks, everyone.

I suppose I ought to apologize right here and now for the crowded pits due to the Heritage series being run the same weekend.
We were told there would be at least one round of eliminations run on Saturday , in every cl***. If that had been done ,HALF the participants would have had the opportunity to leave that night.
Instead ,they were all held over till Sunday morning.
It made it tough for our guys to find any pit space that wasn't a half mile away from the starting line.
I ***ure you , it wasn't intentional and won't happen again.

Hey ya Mark, no sweat. A big event = crowded pits, that's just the way it is.

My gripe was soley with the goofball who weasled into our spot, asinine move on his part.

I didn't let it spoil a great time.

Had a blast! One of the best yet I think. Made some really consitant runs, even took some automatics off the line with my 4 speed! Thanks again to everyone who put it on. Even though there was a ton of people, I think it made for a more action packed day. Can't wait for the next one!

  29. Here's Glenn " I-s***chem" Kramer accepting his mini Mini - Bike 1st Place Award:
I'd give credit to his engine builder too, but it might seem too self serving.

    Congrats ,Glenn
