Biker B.O....thats funny... anyway, anyone see that Triumph chopper last night? I didn't like the bike, but it was cool to see someone do something different. Man that motor looked small in that frame! Matt Hodge's bike, although modern, was pretty trick as well. He won (Of course). One guy at the voting segment was saying "I've never seen a Triumph chopper!" Ha ha ha...

I had a feeling you'd like that Triumph motor after you Cole Biker Build Off post Spike. I really didn't like that bike at all (the airbrushing and wide tires bother me to no end), but it was cool to see that motor. I laughed my *** off when that guy said he'd never seen one...must have just gotten off his GSXR.

Matt's use of the Evolution motor was cool too. It sure would be nice to see more "outside the box" stuff like that on the show.

Yea I saw it. I personally would have voted for Rick's bike. He built a green triumph chopper a while back that I think was nicer than that one. We stared at that green triumph for about an hour at the Lone Star Biker Bash. I liked it better than any other bikes out there except for the Lucifer bike that Covington had in the chop-off. That green triumph used to be on his website I thought, but I could not find it on there today. Anyway I thought it was one of the better buildoff episodes.

I agree that Matt Hoch appears to be very talented...I usually dont like "beach cruiser" type bikes (although this one really wasnt, referring more to the one he built in the last episode) I found his very cool. He really seems to be able to incorporate some modern stuff into traditional designs and make it work - alot of the others cant do that.

I thought Matt's bike was very innovative, probably fast too! Not my style, but you had to appreciate the craftsmanship that went into it. The Triumph motor just doesn't fit into that style of bike (Big tire ETC..) I prefer them more in a bobber style or a skinny 70's style chopper. That motor looked like a Briggs and Stratton in there! seemed to get down the road pretty well, but I'm sure that Revo motor would smoke him. I noticed they didn't hit the drag strip like Cole did...

I just saw the commercial and agree about the proportions comment; it doesn't seem like the bike would be very well balanced.

I agree that Hotch is very talented. The guy is definately good at what he does and you have to respect that. I guess it was just seeing this Triumph Chopper that Fairless did in person that made me a little bias. It has a lot of little details like a vented primary cover, cool 5/8 or so round bar motor mounts, just little simple things, hate the leopard seat, not sure what he is thinking on his seats. Motor is a little small maybe, but in person it looks good actually I think. I am not a huge coffin tank fan, but there are so many other things on it that are nice to make up for that. Anyway Hotch had a nice bike and probably deserved to win, but I do like these Triumphs.

I'm no bike expert but like ****o and donuts.... I know what I like to share with a midget.

Matt Hotch's bike was killer looking. I usually don't like all those new huge tire swoopy frame type bikes either, but that one looked like it had some old cool flair to it. Plus, I met Matt at the Pomona GNR and he was a really cool guy.

The other bike was pretty cool looking but I just didn't dig the 60's flashback thing. Didn't really get the camoflogue(sp?) seat either.

I was also impressed by what Matt did. Like the rest of you, it is not my style but damn well built! Even more impressive to me is that he builds his bikes by himself. He dosen't have a team of guys that create and ***emble his vision.

They throw around the "master builder" tag alot on these shows but after seeing Matt Hotch I'm pretty sure he's the true master! Self taught as well.
The airbrushing on the Triumph was ****y. And a iron cross tail light? What was he thinking? -stick

Anyone catch that Hotch went into that office and snaked the shrunken head to use as his shift knob, drill it, then when the bike hit the road it had one of McPhail's skulls on there instead. Go Dennis. Represent beee-otch!

No likey the fat tires with the brit motors. Having strategic negative space between the frame and engine is sometimes very cool and doesn't have to make the engine look small, but those big *** rear tires sure do.

Didn't think anybody noticed that. Got a glimpse of the top hat, then made a point to look for that trademark McPhail jawbone.

Anyway, even though Matt's a good friend of mine, the majority of his bikes are not my style, but his air suspension is pretty bad***. Only thing, I wouldn't want to be on either of those BBO's if the air decided to fail...

When the show came on and that dude said he was going to build a Triumph, I thought COOL. He then proceeded to turn it into one of the ugliset bikes this side of Orange County Choppers. Orange frame with blue wheels, awful air brushing and camouflage seat?  That thing was hideous.:(

I liked how Hotch used the term "retro" instead of the over-used ( and lame) term "Old School"...

every time one of these guys builds a bike that has a friscoed tank or a spriger fork it's old school... and it couldnt be further from what the bike is.

That triumph bike looks like more of a joke bike, like he was poking fun at discovery. Which ****s, I, like others hear, got REAL excited when a parallel twin was gonna be built. I got no problem with the V-Twin but it is over done, like the SBC:p . I think the parallels are great, with a great sound all their own, besides which it could give a whole new look to a frame.
I'd love to see exile cycles build more triumphs, BSA's, nortons etc...
Hell I'd love to see a Honda 750 - 4 chopper like the 70's or even better a CBX just think of the crazy 6 into 6 exhaust you could make with one of those *****es!

The only thing good on those bikes was the Triumph engine and the McPhail shift knob. To each his own, but I hated em. Start shootin.

I just got the fact that we were the only guys to really build a bike in 10 days,

loaded mine at Alen Ness's today and saw a few. jokes on me about 10 day deal, someone should have told me ..........duh Ness mechanics were ********ting with us and told us corey's bike was built full time for 3 months prior to "10 days" made a tank ,mounted frnder ,paint.

but on tv it looks like thats all we did too. im a silly .

yea, but you actually DID it tho man. if the rest of the BBO builders want to "appear" to do it in 10 days, and get the majority of the fabrication done before hand, let em play. as for me i still think your bike was comple and simple... the way it should be.

on the show that you built off against Hank. . .

one thing i did like about Hanks bike was the rear suspension, but i wasnt much on the lumber and wicker seat. lol the polished tip on yours was bad***, and as usual GREAT work.

    later Cole.

Cole, it's nice that someone else actually believes that reality tv should be, uh...REAL> Ten days should mean ten days. Period. I don't understand it, though. What's next, "24 hour biker build off" ? It should be about who can build the coolest bike within a fair time limit, not a race . Just think how much cooler some of these bike would be without the rush factor. I didn't like the Triumph, but glad someone did it. It would be pretty wild for someone to use a Jap motor, too.

its nice to see someone try something other than a harely, because believe it or not there are other alternatives to bikes that are still "cool". And as far as im concerened its nice to see something different once and a while. Triumph and Jap bikes are under-rated....but as far as the triumph goes in the BBO, i didnt really like it...the engine was cool but the fat tire didnt do it for me. I didnt really get the **** paint job , and the art didnt help either... you can make art on bikes look tasteful, but it looked like it had a bunch of ****ing bumper stickers slapped on it with no rhyme or reason- not tasteful or eye catching at all.
