metal gauges

    i was wondering what gauge metal i should use??

    im making a panel that goes behind my back seat to cover up the opening to keep the exhaust fumes out since i have no trunk floor.


    i was thinging 18 gauge

    18 guage is user friendly for manipulating and shaping, But I like 16 guage for all around use and firmness.

    so since it is pretty much just gonna be used to block exhaust fumes i shold be good with 18?

    Ruben, ya can't go wrong with a little 18 gauge cold rolled steel. Hit up a sheet metal shop, they usually have s**** pieces of 18 gauge laying around for free or even just a couple of bucks.

    I just got a 2x4 sheet of 16 for 15 bucks its cheap
