Question for people who have a Chevy 54.

Discussion in 'The Hokey Ass Message Board' started by Rustem, Mar 9, 2011.

  1. Friends, help me. I bought a Fender skirt for Chevy 54. I'm in the back of the wing, there is no mount for Fender skirt. I do not know how to look like Mount for Fender skirt. See me nowhere. If you have or installed on the car Fender skirt, take pictures for me the attachment Fender skirt. I would really appreciate you. In Russia, I do not see it.

    Hi
You will need mounting brackets like theses.
I dont have pics of them mounted because I havent got mine installed yet, but these brackets bolt to your inner fender wells and the swing arms on your skirts hooks in these brackets.

  3. Thank you! This is for the hooks? Right? And from the top?

The above brackets are for the front and rear hooks and the top mounts sit against the inner fender

I think this tab was just home made and installed on the inside of the fenderwell, to act as a stop, so that the fender skirt would be flush with the outside of the wheel opening. If you should need this, it shouldn't be to much trouble to make out of light guage metal.

also you will have to drill a hole in the rear lower wheel well lip for the pin to go into..

  11. I think I need to go there.

You need two tabs at the top of the wheel opening for alignment as 54fierro has shown. These are not reproduced. You will probably need to make them.

There should be a hole at the lower rear corner of the wheel opening for the fixed tab of the skirt to go into.

There needs to be a bracket like Shadetree posted, bolted to the inside of the front edge of the wheel opening.

The skirts are side specific, with the lever going towards the front and engaging the bolt on bracket.

  14. Thank you! I was all clear!
