Couple of week ago I was looking for gl*** patterns and a HAMB member told me he would send them to me if I gave him my address. I did that and two days later Rusty 1 had sent them to me......Thank you. Now I have another question. Has anyone used LMC window rubbers before. I seem to be having a problem. The rubbers seem too big for the gl***. I had this problem with my patterns so I got new ones. Same thing, when I get the gl*** in the truck you can push it right out of the opening with no effort at all. I tried a bigger gl*** and that just caused the rubber to slip off the pinch weld as you were watching it. I called them but they have no tech support. They told me to install a screen door installation type rubber string into the slit in the rubber meant to hold the deluxe chrome. (huh?) If anyone has any ideas please let me know. Thanx in advance, Norm
Whoops, sorry, didn't like my first post, re-did it and forgot that info. It's a '48 Ford pickup. It's ready for paint, and I'd like to get the gl*** in it as soon as possible so I can kick it out of the barn.
Yes, ther is a lock bead that goes in those rubbers they were in there from the factory, 46 to 55 chevy rear window rubbers and quarter gl*** lock the same. that slit faces out and the "deluxwe" trucks it had a exposed chrome bead attached to it. I am surpried the old gl*** came out without removing the lock bead first. Big Jim
Well, thank you big Jim. Now I know.Guess I gotta find some of this trim. Actually the truck had no gl*** when I got it. I just got some patterns and rubbers. I knew the slit was in there, however I didn't realize the trim had to be there. When I ordered the rubbers I told them that mine didn't have the chrome, but thats the ones they sent. Thanx again, you certainly cleared that up. Norm
Got ahold of LMC today, seems they sent the wrong rubbers. The deluxe model does take the chrome trim that locks the gl*** in. They made good and are sending the correct rubbers. Thanx all for your help.......Norm
