Tried something a little new (for me, at least)with helmet art. Since I like a little bit of a safty factor when I,m in the wind (can't rust those crazy four wheelers, huh? ) I decided to try to incorporate reflective tape in a pinstripe design for my helmet.

I tried it out in a dark room and it really works!

Thanks for the tip, Ian. I'll keep my eye out for the Black Reflective tape as well as other colors. I'm going online to see who might have a good selection . . . there's NOTHING available in this part of Tennessee. A local motorcycle shop is interested in me doing this for their customers. I'm calling it "SAFE-T-STRIPES"

Any sign supply place that handles vinyl sign materials should be able to get Reflective vinyl in several colors, including Black.

If you can't find any locally, www.earlmich.com has Avert A-7 Reflective vinyl available in 18 colors,15" wide,$13.00 per yard plus shipping.

Just make sure you apply it dry.Regular vinyls can be applied wet,for some reason it causes problems with the reflective vinyls.

  7. Cool idea and nice striping. I wonder how well that tape will hold up?
